ABC News picks Alteva to provide VoIP cloud solution to cover the national political conventions

Alteva, a unified communications (UC) solutions provider and a subsidiary of the cloud-based Warwick Valley telephone company announced today that it has selected to provide new portable telecommunications HD solutions to ABC News at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, and the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina for September 3 to 6.

ABC News political reporters covering the Conventions operate from an office on wheels, including a unified communications solution that is hosted from Alteva. Alteva solution will provide support to the crews of the production, reporters and anchors with HD voice, fax, and e-mail communications and can be moved to remote locations often to support multiple transmissions. Through the voice over IP (VoIP) platform, Alteva provides redundancy in two locations of backup to ensure secure access to the communications functions, as well as serve as a precaution under imminent lighting or hurricane problems in Tampa. This will also allow the reporters and news anchors make calls and send faxes during this high traffic cycle news.

"Alteva, which helps companies run more efficiently every day, was selected for its highly reliable and rapid solution." ABC News was able to try and test their solution within a 24 hour window and the company was selected as the provider of choice due to their unsurpassed customer service and the quality of communications solutions. These are hallmarks of their services for each and every one of their clients, and the company is delighted to have been selected by ABC in support of such high-profile events on a national stage, "said Louis Hayner, head of sales, WVT Communications Group." "We are proud of our team which moved quickly in a very narrow window and look forward for future assignments that demonstrate our ability to address critical challenges with our high quality solutions".
