NextUC, a cloud-based communications provider, today launched beta trials of a hosted IP PBX service based on Microsoft’s Lync Server. The company provides a fully integrated communications service that unifies telephony, chat, audio conferencing, video, collaboration and mobility in a single, cost-effective cloud-based platform perfect for small and medium businesses.
According to media statements, the platform is unique in that the service has a truly integrated enterprise telephony and unified messaging solution in addition to the base Microsoft Lync Server collaboration and conferencing product.
NextUC’s unique structure enables it to address the challenge of small businesses that do not generally have immediate access to the IT resources necessary to make complex integrations, sources say. NextUC delivers exactly the small business phone system that the market needs: A complete collaboration conferencing and telephony platform that will increase their productivity while eliminating their IT costs through an opex-based, month-to-month subscription model, according to the company.
“We believe that small and medium-sized businesses will be delightfully surprised at the ease of automated provisioning and on-boarding and the reasonable expense for such advanced communications capabilities,” noted Bob Barnes, EVP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at NextUC. Some of the product's important functions will include: click to dial from your laptop, communication history recorded in your inbox, screen pops and call routing integrations.
Initially, clients will be able to pick from the following two product bundles for a 90-day free beta trial: NextUC Messenger and NextUC Enterprise. NextUC Messenger is based on hosted Microsoft Lync with a Lync soft client and allows for peer-to-peer instant messaging and presence awareness. It can allow users to participate in a web conference via IP phone system. Of course, NextUC Enterprise consists of all of Microsoft Lync features, including: unlimited calling, DID, audio, video and web conferencing, instant messaging, presence awareness and integration of Microsoft Outlook.
NextUC is truly flexible: it will bring the service to all of the main OS on the desktop as well as mobile environments including Windows, iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The most important benefit for customers is that this approach allows a very wide array of hardware device support including PC, Mac, Windows Phones, iPad, Android and Blackberry. Moreover, NextUC products will be automatically integrated to key cloud companies such as Salesforce.com, NetSuite and others driving productivity improvements even further for SMBs.
