Andrea Electronics Develops Echo Cancellation Technology
Andrea Electronics announced that it is planning to deploy its echo cancellation technology, EchoStop, to enhance products for several industries such as telecommunications, automotive telematics and PC-based voice communications. As part of its strategy, the company has also reached an agreement with Net2Phone, in which Net2Phone will license the technology for integration into its PC-based VoIP software product and market the product/service to its users. The EchoStop technology is an acoustic echo cancellation software algorithm that supports full duplex communications through a PC, enabling hands-free, speakerphone capability. The software algorithm’s proprietary processing enables seamless residual echo suppression capabilities even in highly reverberant, live room environments. It also incorporates noise reduction algorithms to reduce the background noise of both input and output audio.
