1. Octasic Introduces New Echo Cancellation Technology
Octasic has introduced OCT6100, a family of echo cancellation and VQE products. The technology supports a full 128ms tail in densities ranging from 128 to 672 channels, with power consumption of less than 3mW per channel. The products feature acoustic echo cancellation, signaling tone detection, and audio conferencing.
When combined with the company’s OCT8304 1024 channel AAl2/AAL5/RTP packetization device, it creates a complete OC-3 voice gateway solution for ATM and IP voice.
The OCT6100 devices will be sampling in Q’4.
3. Cedar Point Announces Alliance Program Members
Cedar Point Communications has announced the charter members of its alliance program, created to promote third party interoperability with its PacketCable-based telephony solution, the Safari C Media Switching System. Companies participating in Cedar Point’s alliance program include ADC, Alopa, Arris, Broadband Access Networking Group, C-Cor, Ceon, Core Networks, DST Innovis, Lambert Communications Group, Motorola, and Terayon.

5. NetScout Introduces VoIP Management Solution
NetScout Systems has introduced nGenius Performance Manager 1.4, an enterprise network management system that combines real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, protocol analysis, and historical reporting within a single platform. It concurrently monitors and provides a global view of web and voice applications as they compete for resources on the shared network infrastructure.
The management system is currently available for $50,000. Training classes are provided, with the next class scheduled for June 24.
7. M5 Launches Managed Telecom Service to SMEs in NYC
M5 has launched a managed telecom service, offering SMEs in New York City bundled local, long distance, and Internet access services. The service features PBX like features such as conference calling, voicemail, multiple location and home office connections, and full business disaster recovery services.
