1. Legerity Introduces Dual Channel SLIC
Legerity has introduced VoiceChip 9502, a dual channel, single chip SLIC that includes on-chip ringing, integrated switching regulators and universal interfaces. The technology is designed to connect two analog phone lines to cable and DSL modems. The SLIC operates at 3.3V

When combined with a DSP or voice codec, the SLIC provides a complete, 2 channel voice interface for both IP-based and CBR VoB applications.

The VoiceChip 9502 ships in a standard, 44-pin TQFP package. It is priced at $5.00 in 100k quantities. Samples are currently available.

The 9502 is the first product to be introduced in Legerity’s new VoiceChip family of VoB semiconductors. The product categories in the line will include programmable voice codec ICs, ringing SLIC ICs, and integrated VoB chipsets.

VoiceChip products will feature software programmable to operate in more than 100 countries, interoperability with popular DSPs and network processors, SLIC devices developed with Legerity’s proprietary technology, and integrated test features that enable remote diagnostics of telephone sets and lines by broadband network service providers.

The line will be supported by Legerity’s suite of design tools, including a SDK and more than 25 unique line modules, reference designs, and evaluation boards.


3. Deutsche Postbank Deploys IPC’s VoIP Solution
Duetsche Postbank AG has deployed IPC’s IQMX, an IP-based, converged voice, video and data solution, at its new trading facility in Frankfurt. The installation includes 55 VoIP desktops and an Alliance MX switch.

5. VocalTec to Sell its ITXC Shares to ITXC
VocalTec will sell, in a private transaction, 3,783,000 ITXC shares to ITXC for $2.53 per share. VocalTec is selling an additional 124,365 shares of ITXC on the open market.



7. Netrake Using Radcom’s VoIP Testing
Netrake will use Radcom’s VoIP Performer to test its nCite session controller. Netrake will be using Radcom’s H.323 and SIP call generation capabilities, in combination with Radcom’s MediaPro voice over data monitor to stress test and measure the session controller and deliver real-time QoS information.

The nCite session controller provides solutions for firewall traversal, network translation, media anchoring, QoS mediation, session detail records, and session admission control.



9. Corliant to Resell NetIQ’s VoIP Management Solution
Corliant will resell NetIQ’s Chariot VoIP Assessor and VoIP Manager Suite, a collection of technology that provides pre-deployment readiness assessments and management of VoIP systems after implementation.



11. Covista Facing NASDAQ Delisting
Covista Communications has been advised that its common stock may be delisted from NASDAQ for failure to satisfy the $50,000,000 minimum market value required for its inclusion. The company has requested a hearing before a NASDAQ Listing Qualifications Panel to address the issue.

13. Oki Introduces Terminal Adapter for Siemens’ Surpass
Oki Network Technologies has introduced VoIP TA-S, a terminal adaptor designed to interoperate with Siemens’ H.323 Annex M.3- based VoIP network. The single port product also supports standard H.323 interface capabilities.
