1. AudioCodes Introduces New Gateway Board & Architecture
AudioCodes has introduced the TP-6310 STM-1 OC-3 compact PCI, a board that offers integrated voice and signaling gateway functionality. The board supports up to 2016 low bit rate VoIP channels and approximately 1000 extra mediation channels.

The TP-6310 supports multiple vocoders, 128 ms of long tail echo cancellation, fax over IP relay per ITU T.38, and PSTN protocol terminationa and SIGTRAN. The board offers STM-1/OC-3 automatic protection switching on PSTN interfaces and dual optical Ethernet interfaces on the back plane or via a rear transition module.

The TP-6310 will be available in November for beta and lab trials.

In other news, AudioCodes has reported releasing a new VoIP platform known as VoIPerfect. The architecture includes VoIP DSP software, media streaming embedded software, integrated PSTN signaling protocols, VoIP standard control protocols, and provisioning and management engines.

The platform is planned for general availability later this month.

AudioCodes has also announced that 3Com is using the company’s digital gateways (Mediant 2000), media servers (IPmedia 2000), and analog gateways (MediaPack) within 3Com’s VCX V7000 IP platform.



3. Ingate Introduces Firewall Traversal for Small Businesses
Ingate has introduced SIParator 20, a firewall traversal device for SIP communications designed to support from 10 to 400 users. The product includes a VIA C3 533 processor and two 10/100 Mbps ports. The initial RTP is 50. SIParator measurements are 8.7x10x1.7 inches.

SIParator 20 goes for $1,650. The product comes with 10 user licenses.

In other news, Ingate has reported the release of new software for its firewall and SIParator products. The new release includes PPPoE support and features increased support application sharing. Current Ingate customers can download the software from the company’s web site at no charge.


5. iBasis Interconnects with India Based VebTel
iBasis has interconnected with VebTel, an IP telephony service provider based in India. Vebtel will use the iBasis network to carry international long distance calls for its residential and business customers.



7. Dalton Utilities to Use Tiogan’s Technology for VoFTTH
Georgia based Dalton Utilities is using Tiogan’s IP voice solution to offer residential and business services over its fiber to the home network in Dalton, Georgia. The services include residential VoIP and IP Centrex. Dalton Utilities offers a bundle of voice, video and high speed Internet services for $75 per month.

9. AudioCodes to Use Motorola’s Processor in Media Gateways
AudioCodes is using Motorola’s C-5e network processor to perform packet processing within its media gateway solutions. The C-5e architecture consists of 16 fully programmable RISC cores that support multiple protocols including ATM AAL-2/ AAL-5, VoIP/RTP/UDP, Packet over Sonet/PPP, and MPLS. The network processor supports interworking between IP and ATM, such as switching within and between RTP and AAL-2 flows.
